To the Alumni and Friends of Pembroke Academy:
The 2018-2019 school year marks Pembroke Academy’s two-hundredth year educating the youth of our community. For many, Pembroke Academy represents not only a place of learning, but where many long-standing friendships were made and where many lifelong pursuits for knowledge and service began. Looking back, perhaps you can identify an integral role the Pembroke Academy community played in your life. Luckily, we now have an opportunity to give back and show our support for this important institution.
The mission of the Pembroke Academy Bicentennial Committee is to join communities to celebrate Pembroke Academy’s historical heritage while looking toward the future of our school and communities. A key component of our fundraising efforts is the purchase of engraved bricks that will be used in the construction of a decorative wall commemorating Pembroke Academy’s bicentennial. Community members who purchase an engraved brick and have their names or messages etched in them will support the creation of legacy projects like this wall which will be a backdrop to our spartan statue and a great place for families to pose for pictures with the newest generations of Pembroke Academy alumni. In addition, other projects may include a Performing Arts Hall of Fame and an Athletic Hall of Fame depending on the success of our fundraising efforts. Please visit our fundraising page for more information at https://polarengraving.com/PembrokeAcademyBicentennialCommittee.
Please consider coming to our All Class Reunion and Walking Museum on Saturday, April 14, 2018. This will be our first major event kicking off our bicentennial celebrations and will feature guided tours of our facility, photos and artifacts documenting the various eras of Pembroke Academy, reenactments of important events in our institution’s history, and keynote speeches by distinguished guests.
Pembroke Academy’s bicentennial is a significant milestone and a celebration in which current and former staff, parents, community members, alumni, and current students of Pembroke Academy can all take great pride. Please support this cause by purchasing a brick, forwarding this e-mail to other PA community members, and following us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/PABicentennial). Also, all alumni, staff members, and community members are invited to attend any of our Bicentennial Committee meetings always held at 6:00 in the PA Library on the following dates: 11/9/17, 12/7/17, 1/11/18, 2/8/18, 3/8/18, 4/12/18, 5/10/18, and 6/7/18.
